How Do I Get an Invoice, Receipt, or Tax Document?

Quick Answer

If you need an invoice, receipt, order summary, or refund confirmation for your records, please contact our Customer Care team via live chat or the Contact Us page and include your order number. For a commercial invoice, we can usually arrange one once your order has been dispatched.

Document formats and tax details can vary by country and order, so let us know exactly what you need and we'll confirm what we can provide for your order.

How do I request an invoice or receipt?

Contact our Customer Care team via live chat or the Contact Us page, and include:

  • Your order number
  • The email address used to place the order
  • The type of document you need (for example, a commercial invoice, an order summary or PDF with your order details, or a refund confirmation)

If you don't have your order number, share any details that can help us locate the order, such as the approximate purchase date, the shipping address, the order total, or a screenshot of the transaction.

When can I get a commercial invoice?

We can provide a commercial invoice once your order has been dispatched. You'll know your order has shipped when you receive your dispatch confirmation email. Be sure to include your order number when you contact us, so we know which order the invoice is for.

If your order hasn't shipped yet, please reach out again after you receive your dispatch confirmation, or let us know and we'll follow up once it's on its way.

What if I need a document in a specific format or with specific details?

Tell us as much as you can about what the document needs to show, and we'll let you know what's possible for your order. In some cases we can send a commercial invoice; in others we may be able to provide an order summary or a PDF with your order details instead.

Certain country-specific invoice formats or particular business or tax details may not be available for every order. If you have specific requirements, share them with us up front so we can confirm what we can issue before you rely on it.

How do I get a receipt or confirmation after a refund?

After your refund has been processed, you'll receive an email with the details. If you need a copy for your records and can't find it, check your inbox along with your spam or junk folders, then contact us and we can resend the refund confirmation where available.

If a separate refund document isn't available, your bank or card statement showing the credit, or your bank's refund notification, can serve as your record of the refund. For more on confirming a refund for your bank, see How Do I Get Proof of Refund or Resolve a Bank Issue?

How does sales tax work on my order?

Sales tax is charged on items shipped within the US in states where SilkSilky is required to collect it. A few points to keep in mind:

  • The amount depends on your shipping address and is calculated on your order total after any discount, based on state rates and the items you're buying.
  • The sales tax shown at checkout reflects your selected shipping address, so it may change if you change that address.
  • We'll always show you the sales tax that applies before you complete checkout.
  • During a state sales tax holiday, qualifying items may show as tax-free at checkout once you've selected your shipping address; tax may still apply to items that don't qualify.

For detailed rules in your area, you can check your state or US territory's department of revenue website.

Will sales tax be refunded if I return an item?

Yes. If you return an item for a refund, the sales tax paid on that item is refunded along with it, back to your original payment method.
